Amperity, an AI-first company helping brands create personalized customer experiences, is hiring a Senior Manager, Product Design. You will define the user experience standard for the Customer Data Platform category. This is a player/coach role where you will conduct hands-on design work while also managing a small team of senior designers, shaping strategic platform direction and providing mentorship.
What You'll Do
- Drive design strategy by establishing operational objectives and policies for major design pillars, partnering with Product and Engineering leadership.
- Elevate the craft by raising the bar for design skills and scaling design awareness across the platform, including advancing the use of AI and rapid prototyping.
- Champion the user by developing a deep understanding of data analysts, engineers, and marketing ops users to turn complex workflows into intuitive experiences.
- Mentor and multiply the team by actively coaching members, raising quality standards, and partnering with HR on hiring.
- Evolve the design library by overseeing the continual evolution of the Figma Design Library, exploring its future in the AI Era.
- Bridge the gap between design and implementation by directly influencing the front-end component library.
- Facilitate collaboration by leading design sprints, workshops, and critique sessions to align stakeholders.
- Integrate AI into the design process to accelerate team velocity while maintaining a human-in-the-loop.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of experience designing complex web-based applications from concept to launch.
- Enterprise mastery, including experience navigating data-heavy workflows and multi-persona ecosystems.
- An AI-native approach, with experience developing AI applications and rapid prototyping with customers.
- Strategic empathy to use data and research to influence product roadmap goals.
- Communication excellence to explain the 'why' behind design decisions to executives, engineers, and customers.
- Ownership of ambiguity, excelling in the 'fuzzy front end' of projects to create clarity.
- Technical literacy with proficiency in Figma and a working knowledge of HTML/CSS and component libraries.
- Industry knowledge from designing SaaS products, especially data-visualization or web-based marketing tools.
