MI CNS P&E IPT Next Gen Voice Solution (L05) is hiring a Principal Technical Specialist, an experienced embedded Linux engineer to own software architecture design and development for our next-generation voice solutions. You will focus on Wifi, xPON ONT systems, and L2/L3 forwarding software, delivering high-quality, customer-oriented features through effective cross-team collaboration.
What You'll Do
- Analyze customer specifications and requirements in collaboration with product management and architecture teams.
- Design and implement software according to product and technical specifications.
- Develop embedded Linux software for network protocols, Wifi, layer 2/3 data forwarding, and GPON technologies.
- Lead continuous software module refactoring, architecture evolution, and new feature integration.
- Analyze, debug, and fix customer issues, performing Root Cause Analysis and implementing preventive actions.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Telecom, or an equivalent field.
- 12 to 18 years of experience in network software development projects, primarily on Wifi.
- Deep experience with 802.11 specifications and Wifi driver development, integration, and bug fixing.
- Knowledge of Wifi 6 & 7 with RRM and a strong understanding of WiFi control and data paths on Qualcomm or similar WiFi SoCs.
- Expertise in Wi-Fi security protocols, including WPA2, WPA3, and 802.1X/EAP.
- Proven experience with wireless debugging tools (iw, iperf, QXDM/QCAT) and the Linux networking stack (wpa_supplicant, hostapd, netlink).
- Strong knowledge of Linux Kernel internals, embedded Linux, OPENWRT, and PurpleOS systems.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and scripting languages.
- Development experience in Network layer 2/3 data forwarding and in GPON, ONT, home gateway products, or wifi Extenders.
- Fluency in technical writing and communication.
