Branch Operations is looking for a Principal Data Scientist to provide independent data science, machine learning, and analytical insights using member, financial, and organizational data to support credit risk decision-making. You will identify opportunities for process optimization to meet business objectives and be regarded as an advanced professional with wide latitude for independent judgment.

What You'll Do

Develop, maintain, and manage advanced reporting, dashboards, data models and analytical results.
Retrieve, analyze and validate data and interpret results.
Lead moderate to large projects to understand requirements and propose key analytical solutions.
Develop and code complex software programs, algorithms, and automated processes.
Produce innovative solutions driven by exploratory data analysis from complex and high-dimensional datasets.
Transform data into charts, tables, or formats that aid effective decision making.
Utilize effective written and verbal communication to document analyses and present findings to a diverse audience.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with team members, subject matter experts, and leaders.
Model best practices and ethical AI.
Work with senior management on complex issues and serve as a technical resource for other team members.
Mentor lower levels and assist with the development and enhancement of practices and procedures.

What We're Looking For

6+ years of relevant working experience.
Complete knowledge and full understanding of data science specialization.
Expertise in statistics, machine learning, data mining, auditing, aggregation, reconciliation, and visualization.
Proficiency in programming, data modeling, simulation, and advanced mathematics.
Hands-on experience with SQL, R, Python, Hadoop, SAS, SPSS, Databricks, Scala, AWS.
Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or related data visualization tools.
Proven skills in model lifecycle execution, technical writing, data storytelling, and technical presentation.
Strong research, interpersonal, communication, and critical thinking skills.
Ability to collaborate, build relationships, and exercise initiative with sound judgment.
Advanced problem-solving skills, identifying constraints and risks.
A Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar quantitative field.

Nice to Have

A Master's or PhD Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
