Lead the evolution of large-scale data platforms by shaping architecture, security, and performance across global cloud environments. In this role, you'll guide the development of resilient, cloud-native database systems that power critical business operations, with a primary focus on AWS and multi-region deployments.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct architectural planning and technical discussions with engineering, DevOps, and IT teams to align data platform strategy with business needs.
- Design and deploy highly available, secure database solutions across multi-region, multi-availability-zone cloud infrastructures.
- Maximize efficiency and cost performance of AWS-native services, including RDS and EMR, through deep system optimization.
- Ensure reliability by managing maintenance, patching, and upgrades with minimal impact on uptime.
- Implement automated database operations using CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code to support consistent, scalable deployments.
- Monitor system performance, diagnose bottlenecks, and tune database workloads across distributed environments.
- Enforce data governance through encryption, access controls, and compliance-ready security practices.
- Develop enterprise data models and standards to ensure consistency, integrity, and long-term scalability.
- Research emerging database technologies and assess their fit for improving platform capabilities.
- Produce clear, detailed documentation for system designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
Required Expertise
- Proven experience in designing and managing cloud-based data platforms, especially on AWS, including RDS, EMR, and cloud automation tools.
- Strong background in DevOps practices, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code for database systems.
- Ability to lead technical discussions and influence architecture decisions across cross-functional teams.
- Experience with multi-region, highly available data platforms and disaster recovery strategies.
