Plain Concepts is hiring a Principal Data Engineer to lead the design and implementation of end-to-end data solutions in cloud environments. You will develop projects from scratch, guide teams, ensure best practices, and mentor engineers within our agile, multidisciplinary team.
What You'll Do
- Design and lead end-to-end data engineering solutions in cloud environments.
- Develop projects from scratch with minimal supervision and strong team collaboration.
- Guide teams and ensure high-quality delivery.
- Ensure best practices in data quality, security, and scalability.
- Mentor other engineers and promote technical excellence.
- Develop ETLs using Apache Spark with Python or Scala.
- Work on cloud-based projects using Azure or AWS.
- Build scalable data pipelines using a variety of technologies.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering, including designing and building end-to-end cloud architectures.
- Ability to engage with clients, understand needs, and design technical proposals tailored to business goals.
- Experience in technical presales, including demos, solutioning, and proposal writing.
- Capable of leading projects independently and mentoring other engineers.
- Strong programming skills in Python, with hands-on experience in Apache Spark.
- Expertise with Databricks, Snowflake, and Microsoft Fabric.
- Hands-on experience building data pipelines with CI/CD.
- Experience with testing (unit, integration, etc.).
- Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code).
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Fluent in English and Spanish (mandatory).
- A strong team player mindset.
Nice to Have
- Bonus points for experience in Artificial Intelligence.
