Join Wise as a Principal Architect (IC 5 Product Engineer) in our APAC organization, based in our new full-stack hub in Hyderabad. You will be a senior pioneering engineer helping to build the engineering foundation for this hub, focusing on scaling the APAC region tech-first by designing and implementing solutions for diverse markets.

What You'll Do

Design and lead implementation of scalable, customer-centric solutions tailored to diverse APAC markets to reduce redundancies and improve expansion lead time.
Identify, build, and maintain automations that mindfully leverage LLMs across APAC and regional markets to improve speed and efficiency.
Own evolution of product observability stack to identify gaps and unlock new opportunities for growth and operational excellence.
Collaborate with stakeholders, plan roadmaps, and work through challenges to determine scope and realistic delivery.
Be responsible for the technical health of the APAC regional expansion organization through accountability, ownership, and mentorship.
Develop a strong technical opinion on regional solutions and provide feedback on design and ADRs for APAC and regional expansion.

What We're Looking For

Solid Java 17+ knowledge and experience with Spring framework and microservice architecture with at least 10+ years of work experience.
Experience working with relational and non-relational databases, query optimization, and schema design.
Approach challenges with a strong product mindset, prioritize customer needs, and make data-driven decisions to fix customer pain-points.
Led the design and development of complex engineering solutions and understand their broader impact on business outcomes.
Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to senior and experienced developers.
Web development experience with one of JavaScript frameworks like React, Angular, or other.
Experience in technical leadership - maintaining technical excellence beyond your team, managing performance, giving feedback, and coaching engineers.
Familiarity with Continuous Integration and deployment frameworks.

Nice to Have

Experience with financial systems including payments, digital onboarding flows, and payment schemes.
Some Groovy experience.
Worked with external and regulatory stakeholders.
