Role Overview As a Pre-Sales Security Consultant, you will collaborate closely with sales teams, technical specialists, current and potential clients to comprehend their cybersecurity maturity requirements and recommend appropriate service solutions. This client-facing position demands penetration testing and adversary simulation scoping proficiency. You will guide clients through strategic discussions, preliminary threat assessment, and developing pragmatic, risk-aligned testing methodologies. A critical aspect of the role involves helping clients articulate and understand their testing and advisory necessities. You will explore technological environments and business motivations, identify pertinent risks, and shape work that is pragmatic, impactful, and synchronized with the client's cybersecurity maturity strategy. Tasks - Spearhead scoping and exploratory dialogues for penetration testing, adversary simulation, and cybersecurity consulting engagements. - Comprehend technical prerequisites and underlying business motivations, translating these into credible threat scenarios and meaningful focus domains. - Recognize opportunities where complementary services provide enhanced cyber maturity assurance and collaborate with Account Managers to articulate options transparently. - Identifying emerging testing methodologies desired by existing and prospective customers, providing strategic insights for service innovation. - Transform discussions into structured, comprehensive Statements of Work, encompassing scoping parameters, testing approaches, objectives, and effort projections. - Supply delivery teams with comprehensive scoping rationale and contextual background to facilitate effective implementation. - Represent the organization technically at industry events, client meetings, and partner interactions. Requirements - Superior English communication skills, demonstrating clarity in verbal and written expressions, with ability to simplify complex discussions. - Minimum 2 years experience in penetration testing scoping, red teaming, or offensive security consulting, with profound understanding of real-world attack dynamics. - Robust practical knowledge across testing domains including web applications, cloud services, network infrastructure, and workstation security. - Proficiency in testing effort estimation and defining realistic engagement boundaries. - Proven client-facing experience, including leading scoping discussions, presenting findings, conducting closure calls, and providing technical advisory. - Confident in asking clarifying questions, guiding conversations, and managing expectations dynamically. - Maintain current awareness of cybersecurity threats, tools, and industry developments. - Exceptional presentation capabilities, capable of engaging both executive and technical audiences. - Ability to distill complex concepts and align solutions with business outcomes. - Consultative approach with strong problem-solving and relationship-building competencies. - Capacity to collaborate effectively across sales and delivery teams, contributing technical insights to commercial discussions. - Self-motivated professional with results-oriented mindset and independent working capabilities. - Comfortable with remote work and willingness to travel within UK/EU for client meetings. Desirable - Previous hands-on experience in penetration testing, advisory consulting, pre-sales, or solution design. - Possession of recognized cybersecurity certifications.
