Bosch Group is hiring a Power Electronics HW Eng Team Leader to lead a group of engineers developing hardware for Power Electronics solutions in Electrified Motion applications. You will combine technical leadership, people development, and project execution to ensure high-quality hardware designs that meet OEM requirements, Bosch design standards, and internal quality processes.
What You'll Do
- Provide technical guidance in power electronics design, including thermal, EMC, PCB layout, packaging, component selection, DFMEA/DRBFM.
- Review and approve design concepts, schematics, layouts, and validation plans.
- Ensure alignment with Bosch core engineering, global design standards, and product roadmaps.
- Support technical proposals for new business acquisitions by defining feasible and competitive design solutions.
- Recruit, hire, and onboard new team members.
- Conduct regular career development dialogues and performance evaluations.
- Own the competency strategy for the hardware team, driving continuous training and capability growth.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and quality.
- Serve as first-level escalation point for OEMs and internal stakeholders.
- Participate in project planning, risk analysis, and technical reviews.
- Ensure realistic project schedules and transparent reporting of risks and issues.
- Support cross-functional problem solving, cost-reduction initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.
- Ensure proper monthly billing and staffing planning.
- Oversee compliance to Bosch processes, including ECM and configuration management.
- Coordinate activities using Bosch tools like Planisware and Promise.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 7+ years in hardware or mechanical product development, ideally for power electronics such as inverters, converters, or OBC.
- Proven experience with product design processes, including CAD, PCB layout definition, EMC, thermal design, and requirement engineering.
- Hands-on experience supporting manufacturing plants and handling engineering changes (DFMEA, DRBFM, 8D).
- Understanding of production processes and ability to evaluate cost/benefit options.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills for both internal and OEM interactions.
- Ability to negotiate and manage escalations diplomatically.
- Crisis management and structured problem-solving skills.
- Ability to motivate and integrate cross-functional teams.
- High transparency, reliability, and a continuous improvement mindset.
Nice to Have
- Background specifically in power electronics design, including Si/SiC/MOSFETs, thermal interfaces, high-voltage insulation, and EMI/EMC mitigation.
