DTU Fødevareinstituttet is hiring a Postdoc to conduct research in high-performance extraordinary magnetoresistance and Hall magnetometers based on high-mobility semiconductors. This role is part of a Novo Nordisk Foundation sponsored project with the goal of creating magnetic sensors with picotesla sensitivity for mapping neuron activity at room temperature. DTU is a leading technical university globally recognized for the excellence of its research, education, and innovation.
What You'll Do
- Batch fabricate extraordinary magnetoresistive devices from high-mobility III/V semiconductors with novel geometric designs.
- Perform magnetotransport characterization of the devices.
- Control the trajectory of electrons in condensed matter.
- Assess the potential of this new magnetoresistance class for highly sensitive magnetometers.
- Work closely with theory colleagues on optimized designs and provide/receive help with experiments.
- Carry out simulations using the team's numerical model.
What We're Looking For
- Extensive experience with cleanroom fabrication of electrical devices based on high-mobility III/V semiconductors.
- A high level of understanding of material science and electrical transport physics.
- Experience with electrical characterization of devices, ideally low-noise characterization of magnetometers.
- A strong drive to move the frontiers of science.
- A structured work attitude and ability to plan and carry out sophisticated research activities.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
- A PhD degree (or equivalent).
Team & Environment
You will work in a large team, collaborating closely with theory colleagues and fellow experimentalists.
Benefits & Compensation
- A rewarding and challenging job in an international environment.
- Academic excellence in an environment characterized by collegial respect and academic freedom tempered by responsibility.
- The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
Work Mode
This position is onsite.
All interested candidates irrespective of age, gender, disability, race, religion or ethnic background are encouraged to apply.
