Junior Adventures Group (JAG) is looking for a casual Playworker to join our team at Fairfield Spencer Academy in Stapleford, Nottingham. This role is central to creating an inclusive and fun atmosphere for children during our Breakfast, After School, and Holiday Clubs. You will be on a casual contract during term time, covering sickness, holidays, and busier sessions, with the potential for more permanent hours as available. Every day, our professional teams make a positive difference in children's lives.
What You'll Do
- Plan and execute structured, exciting, and age-appropriate activities like multi-sports, games, arts and crafts, and structured play.
- Create an inclusive and fun atmosphere for the children from school pick-up to safe handover to parents or caregivers.
- Collaborate with the team to plan activities that encourage maximum participation.
- Prioritize safety in all activities, ensuring proper use of equipment and space.
- Provide refreshments while maintaining high standards of hygiene and health and safety.
- Set up and pack away play spaces, moving furniture and play equipment as needed.
- Follow all Health and Safety protocols and keep relevant documentation, including accident forms, up to date.
- Ensure proper sign-in and sign-out processes are followed for all children.
- Communicate professionally and authentically with team members, parents, children, and schools.
- Conduct regular maintenance and safety checks for all equipment.
- Champion health and safety, providing first aid where necessary.
- Keep all information related to the children confidential and secure.
- Inspire team members and children to have fun, be active, and lead an active lifestyle.
What We're Looking For
- Compliance with the Keeping Children Safe in Education policy.
- You must provide two references, one from your most recent employer and another from a childcare setting (if applicable).
- You must undergo a DBS check.
