About the Role

FORVIA, a global leader in sustainable automotive technologies, is hiring a Plant Production Quality Engineer in Silao, Guanajuato. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with quality systems, driving continuous improvement, and supporting new projects to advance cleaner and smarter mobility.

What You'll Do

  • Ensure compliance with implemented system requirements (IATF 16949, ISO 14001, C-TPAT) focused on Quality.
  • Define and update inspection instructions according to the control plan (e.g., final inspection instructions, first piece OK, control charts).
  • Approve work instructions on production lines and ensure all necessary inspections are included, necessary time is included in standardized work sheets, and measurement equipment is available and meets requirements (MSA).
  • Ensure respect for the control plan.
  • Archive all Quality records according to the control plan and the record retention procedure.
  • Support production supervisors in implementing the 8 Quality basics (training, implementation, monitoring, alerting in case of deviation).
  • Conduct regular audits (covering all shifts) to ensure operators respect standardized work.
  • Actively participate in 8Ds/FAST/KATA of UAP and ensure rigorous application of the methodology.
  • Update UAP Quality indicators daily and ensure quality indicators are followed by line GAP leaders.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the UAP.
  • Has the authority to stop any non-conforming product and/or process and immediately escalate to the Quality Manager.
  • Support activities for new projects and Engineering Changes within the assigned area.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum education level: Industrial, Manufacturing and/or Mechanical Engineer.
  • Minimum 3 years of Quality experience focused on the automotive industry.
  • Training as an internal auditor in IATF, LPA, CQI-15, CIQ.
  • Experience in PPAP; APQP: Process Flow, AMEF, Control Plan, Process Flow Diagram, and handling of KPC/KCC.
  • Geometric Tolerances/Blueprint reading.
  • Experience in problem-solving methodology: 8D.
  • Use of SAP, Minitab, Microsoft Office, MLEAN.
  • Knowledge of customer specifications (GM: SQMS, SPPS, SCMS, SCDB Chrysler: GIM, NCT, Global Score Card, CQMS, Change Notice, 3CPR).
  • Schedule availability.
  • Valid passport and visa (desirable).
