MGID is looking for a PHP Backend Developer (Middle–Senior) to build and maintain the backend services and APIs at the heart of our advertiser dashboards. Your engineering decisions will have a direct, visible impact on how advertisers create campaigns, track conversions, and optimize performance.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain backend services, microservices, and APIs
- Integrate third-party services and internal libraries
- Model relational schemas, write optimized queries, and tune database performance
- Design, version, and document RESTful APIs using tools like OpenAPI/Swagger
- Write and maintain unit, integration, and module tests
- Ensure high code quality via reviews, linters, and static analysis
- Configure CI/CD pipelines and collaborate with DevOps on deployments
- Implement authentication, authorization, and input validation best practices
- Participate in architecture and scalability discussions, breaking down monoliths into services when appropriate
- Share knowledge with teammates through documentation, walkthroughs, and mentorship
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of professional PHP (7/8) development experience
- Strong skills in Symfony or another MVC framework with readiness to transition
- Strong SQL expertise with MySQL or PostgreSQL
- Experience designing, implementing, and documenting RESTful APIs
- Apply unit and integration testing consistently to ensure code reliability and maintainability
- Fluent in Ukrainian and have at least intermediate English
- Take initiative, work independently, and articulate your ideas with clarity
- Welcome feedback and approach problems with a structured, analytical mindset
Nice to Have
- Experience with Kafka, Redis, or ClickHouse
- Worked on performance optimization at scale
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps collaboration
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
