About the Role

U-Haul is looking for a 3rd-year Pharmacy Intern to join our retail pharmacy team. In this role, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to help ensure a safe, effective work environment focused on delivering exceptional patient care. You will play a significant part in modeling company values and demonstrating genuine care for our patients.

What You'll Do

  • Work under direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment.
  • Deliver exceptional care to each patient.
  • Adopt and manage patient care programs to keep customers and patients healthy.
  • Display empathy and compassion for patients, customers, caregivers, and colleagues.
  • Facilitate a team culture that promotes caring, energy, enthusiasm, and pride.
  • Perform tasks related to Patient Safety, Pharmacy Professional Practice, Regulatory Requirements, Quality Assurance, Customer Service, Inventory Management, and Workflow Management.
  • Seek new ways to grow, collaborate with others, and deliver better outcomes.
  • Align others around the company's purpose.
  • Complete any additional tasks as directed by your supervisor or manager.

What We're Looking For

  • Accepted into or actively enrolled in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
  • 0-3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Must possess or be in the process of obtaining valid intern and/or technician licensure as required by the state.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to complete all required training within state guidelines and required timeframe.
  • Ability to have regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to be mobile and remain upright for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, scan, and bag items.
  • Finger dexterity for picking, pinching, typing, or working primarily with fingers.
  • Ability to reach overhead and grasp items; ability to extend hands and arms in multiple directions.
  • Precision control to adjust machines to exact positions.
  • Ability to stoop, requiring full use of lower extremities and back muscles.
  • Close visual acuity for activities like transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and reading.
  • Able to orally communicate information and instructions to colleagues and customers.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently.
  • Completion of all required training and obtainment of required licensure (if applicable) within state guidelines.

Nice to Have

  • Immunization eligibility.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Once state regulations are met, a willingness to provide patient immunizations.

Team & Environment

You will be an integral part of the pharmacy team, working under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and reporting directly to that pharmacist.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Compensation range: $18.50 - $42.00 per hour.

This is an onsite position.
