Vaughan Regional Medical Center (ScionHealth) is seeking a dedicated Patient Service Representative to join our team. This role is crucial for ensuring a positive patient experience, managing front-office operations, and supporting the clinical environment through efficient administrative work.
What You'll Do
- Greet patients as they arrive and manage the check-in and check-out process.
- Verify insurance, update demographic information, and handle the electronic chart pre-load.
- Collect and post co-pays and other patient payments.
- Answer phone calls, manage Athena messages, and perform overhead triage pages as needed.
- Schedule, modify, and cancel patient appointments.
- Document medication refill requests in Athena.
- Manage both hard-copy and electronic medical records.
- Scan documents into the patient's electronic chart.
- Perform daily opening and closing procedures, including rolling telephones.
- Communicate effectively, make decisive decisions, and multi-task in a fast-paced setting.
- Participate in training new personnel and follow management directives.
What We're Looking For
- High School diploma or GED is required.
Nice to Have
- A 9-month program from a medical career college focused on front-office duties or a Medical Assistant degree.
- 2+ years of experience as a medical office receptionist, in patient access, or as a medical scheduler.
- Experience in a primary care or specialty physician office setting.
