TEGNA Inc. is seeking a Part Time Broadcast Hub Operator to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina. In this role, you will be responsible for the live operation and support of multiple television stations from our centralized broadcast hub, ensuring on-air integrity and continuity.
What You'll Do
- Maintain and manipulate on-air playlists, execute program/commercial/marketing changes, and support live-event and off-air workflows.
- Send logs for reconciliation and troubleshoot channel playout issues as they arise.
- Ingest and perform quality control of broadcast materials into all automation systems.
- Manage commercial integration, including rolling commercial breaks, during taped and live programming.
- Monitor and maintain the continuity and availability for multiple channel streams.
- Ensure continuity of programming by confirming every piece of material is ready for on-air playout.
- Act as a first line responder for internal clients.
- Vigilantly protect our air by simulating the viewer experience and constantly checking for proper audio, video, captioning, and picture quality.
- Work as a team to promptly recover from any on-air discrepancies under the guidance of Technical Managers and supervisors.
What We're Looking For
- A BA/BS in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
- A basic understanding of television production, broadcast operations, and/or news/sports/entertainment technical production requirements.
- Proficiency in Excel and the entire Microsoft O365 suite.
- Knowledge of and ability to use electronic equipment and computer hardware/software related to television broadcast operations.
- Ability to troubleshoot, take immediate action, and resolve broadcast issues.
- Strong customer service attributes and skills.
- Strong organization and time management skills.

- Acute attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience working successfully as part of a team.
- Willingness to work onsite at our facility in Charlotte, North Carolina.
- Willingness and availability to work flexible hours, including overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of a 24x7 operation.
Nice to Have
- 1-3 years of experience in a master control or production control room television environment.
- A proven passion for media, television, and technology.
