About the Role
The position involves managing patient flow, providing pre- and post-operative guidance, assisting during procedures, and maintaining accurate medical records in a fast-paced oral surgery environment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient scheduling and prepare treatment rooms
- Assist oral surgeons during surgical procedures
- Educate patients on preoperative and postoperative care instructions
- Monitor patient vitals and medical history before procedures
- Administer medications as directed by the surgeon
- Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
- Respond to patient inquiries via phone and in person
- Manage prescription requests and post-op follow-ups
- Support the clinical team with instrument sterilization and supply management
- Perform basic nursing assessments before surgery
- Recognize and report patient complications promptly
- Provide emotional support to patients before and after surgery
- Assist with discharge instructions and recovery planning
- Ensure all consent forms are completed and documented
- Collaborate with insurance providers for treatment authorization
- Handle patient billing inquiries in coordination with administrative staff
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and order as needed
- Uphold patient privacy in accordance with healthcare regulations
- Participate in ongoing training and safety certifications
