Proper and its affiliated portfolio companies are seeking a detail-oriented Offshore Property Accountant to join our team. This role provides essential day-to-day accounting support, ensuring timely and accurate financial records across our real estate entities. You will be a key part of our mission to modernize the industry through operational excellence.
What You'll Do
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations for multiple real estate entities.
- Reconcile credit card activity, escrow accounts, and operating accounts, investigating discrepancies.
- Process accounts payable across multiple properties, reviewing invoices and ensuring proper coding.
- Coordinate with property teams to verify approvals and maintain organized AP aging schedules.
- Update ledgers and assist in maintaining clean, accurate books across entities.
- Support monthly close activities including journal entries, accruals, and financial report preparation.
- Gather documentation needed for audits, tax filings, or lender reporting.
- Utilize accounting software for daily tasks while maintaining organized digital files and controls.
- Provide insight on improving workflows or accounting processes.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in property accounting.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks.
- Experience with AppFolio, Yardi, Buildium, or similar property accounting software.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple properties.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification.
- CPA or similar certification.
