Suffolk University is hiring a Non-Tenure track instructor of Biology

Responsibilities

  • Teach lecture and lab courses in the Biology undergraduate major
  • Teach Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II
  • Possibly teach other organismal or health-related courses in the department
  • Provide service to the Department of Biology and Radiological Sciences
  • Provide service to the College of Arts & Sciences and University
  • Engage in student advising

Requirements

  • Ph.D in biological sciences or terminal degree in a healthcare field
  • Demonstrated college/university teaching excellence

  • Familiarity with methods that enable students across racial, ethnic, socio-economic, and ability groups to reach their maximum potential

Additional Information

  • Position is 10-month on-campus
  • Workload is 80% teaching and 20% service
  • Regular teaching workload is 8 course sections per year (typically 4 per semester)
  • Initial interviews will be online
  • 40% of students are Pell eligible
  • Department offers undergraduate degrees in Biology, Radiation Science, Radiation Therapy, a postbaccalaureate certificate in Radiation Therapy, and a master’s degree in Medical Dosimetry
  • Department has expertise in molecular/cellular biology, organismic and evolutionary biology, and cancer care using radiation
