Pennymac is seeking a Modifications Underwriter Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a critical first reviewer, examining customer-submitted application documents to either clear conditions or request missing items, preparing files for final underwriting.
What You'll Do
- Follow established guidelines to determine if documentation is sufficient to satisfy underwriting guidelines.
- Review applications for potential fraud, ensuring all 'red flags' are addressed or escalated appropriately.
- Input required information into the underwriting module accurately and within established time frames.
- Revise underwriting conditions to communicate stipulations to customers in a clear and concise fashion.
- Review the Initial Package for Completeness.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
- Demonstrate behaviors aligned with the organization’s culture and values.
What We're Looking For
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, mathematical skills, and sound judgment.
Nice to Have
- Financial Services experience, ideally within the mortgage industry.

- Compensation: $40,000 - $60,000
