An experienced Mobile Engineer is needed to architect, develop, and scale a flagship React Native application. The individual will work independently and collaboratively with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to ensure high performance, stability, and an exceptional user experience.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement new features and core infrastructure for a React Native mobile app, focusing on performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Lead mobile strategy by assessing emerging technologies, improving CI/CD pipelines, and enhancing tools for developer efficiency.
- Enhance the mobile user journey through deep linking, push notifications, and performance optimizations to improve engagement and conversion.
- Work closely with Product Managers, UX/UI Designers, and Backend Engineers to convert business needs into functional mobile solutions.
- Manage the full mobile development lifecycle, from concept through deployment, including testing, code reviews, and monitoring in production.
- Promote best practices in mobile engineering and provide mentorship to junior and mid-level developers in React Native development.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 3 years focused on React Native development.
- At least 3 years of experience working with the Java Spring Framework.
- Fluent and clear communication skills in English.
- Proven ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast-moving environment.
- Experience collaborating with non-technical stakeholders such as Product and Design to define requirements and deliver polished mobile experiences.
- Track record of launching and maintaining consumer-facing mobile apps on both Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
- Expert-level knowledge of React Native, JavaScript/TypeScript, and React’s component-based architecture.
- Strong experience managing state in mobile applications using tools like Redux Toolkit, Zustand, or Context API, and handling data fetching with React Query.
- Hands-on experience with React Native development tools, including third-party libraries, native module linking, and turbo modules.
- Familiarity with native mobile development for Android (Kotlin/Java) or iOS (Swift/Objective-C), particularly for debugging and performance tuning.
- Solid understanding of mobile performance optimization, reducing app size, and using crash reporting tools such as Firebase Crashlytics, Datadog, Bugsnag, or Sentry.
- Basic knowledge of API design and integration patterns to efficiently connect with backend services.
- Experience integrating mobile apps with AWS, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Familiarity with mobile analytics, tracking, and experimentation platforms such as Segment or Amplitude.
Nice to Have
- Experience in migrating native mobile applications to React Native.
- Hands-on work with brownfield integrations between React Native and native code.
- Knowledge of internationalization tools specific to mobile platforms.
- Experience implementing growth and marketing tools like CleverTap, Adjust, or Amplitude on mobile.
- Prior work in fintech, cryptocurrency, blockchain, or high-growth tech environments.
- Demonstrated technical leadership or mentorship in mobile engineering.
