About the Role
This role is critical to extending a strong product lead backed by exceptional user satisfaction and significant funding. As an early designer, you will shape design systems, interaction patterns, prototypes, and user research, setting the foundation for product design in a high-growth startup environment.
Responsibilities
- Create end-to-end designs for AI-native workflows, including prompt inputs, agent outputs, streaming responses, citations, confidence indicators, and trust signals essential for legal professionals to confidently delegate tasks
- Deliver product features weekly in close collaboration with product managers and engineers, progressing from initial Figma concepts to precise, production-ready handoffs
- Build prototypes for novel AI interaction models—such as chat interfaces, agent-based systems, document review tools, and multi-step automations—to validate concepts before engineering begins
- Enhance and maintain the Figma design system to ensure the product remains scalable, consistent, and efficient to develop
- Engage regularly with in-house legal users to uncover workflow details, pain points, and understand where AI supports or disrupts their work
- Transform complex legal processes into simple, intuitive user interfaces that feel natural and easy to use
