About the Role

Company is looking for a Mechanical Designer to execute mechanical projects and analyze technical problems using current technologies. You'll collaborate with internal and external teams while guiding new engineers and ensuring high standards of work quality.

What You'll Do

  • Execute a variety of engineering tasks using current technologies to support project goals.
  • Analyze and resolve moderately complex mechanical issues by evaluating multiple factors.
  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with internal and external teams.
  • Provide informal guidance and support to new engineers to facilitate their development.
  • Maintain high standards of quality in personal work and contribute to team quality assurance.
  • Create 3D models and 2D drawings of mechanical components and systems adhering to industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to update mechanical designs, ensuring alignment with project specs and the production floor.
  • Work closely with electrical engineers to ensure enclosure/housing designs align with PCB layouts.
  • Optimize designs for manufacturability, weight reduction, and cost-efficiency while ensuring compliance with aerospace regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues during production phases.
  • Create and maintain detailed engineering documents and reports.
  • Manage technical assignments and ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Make improvements to production performance and techniques.
  • Manage and control BOMs accurately.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Greater than 3 years experience as a CAD designer.
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements of Controlled Goods Program.
  • Ability to update/produce designs that fulfill compliance requirements.
  • Up-to-date knowledge on CAD tools and deployment.
  • Proficient in designing mechanical systems and components using CAD software.
  • Skilled in analyzing complex technical issues and developing effective solutions.
  • Effective in conveying complex information clearly to team members and stakeholders.
  • Adept at working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the latest mechanical engineering tools and technologies.
  • Strong capability to assess data and situations to make informed engineering decisions.
  • Committed to maintaining high standards in engineering processes and product quality.

Nice to Have

  • Experience creating detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for PCB enclosures and housing assemblies using industry-standard tools.
  • Familiarity with aerospace materials (e.g., aluminum alloys, composites) and manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC machining, injection molding).
