Celestica is looking for a Material Handler 4 to provide task leadership and technical expertise within our warehouse operations in Richardson, Texas. You will be guided by diverse procedures and use your judgment to resolve problems directly related to receiving, shipping, inventory control, and team coordination.
What You'll Do
- Provide task leadership and technical expertise to material handlers engaged in inventory movement and control.
- Perform tasks including receiving, shipping, counting, packaging, stock rotation, part identification, and shelf life determination.
- Facilitate the timely and accurate movement and control of inventory in your designated area.
- Balance personnel within your area to minimize constraints affecting scheduled material output.
- Monitor quantity and quality output and lead your team to meet group goals.
- Monitor material handler performance by auditing transaction accuracy.
- Compile data and generate reports to illustrate process effectiveness.
- Identify, document, and propose solutions for processing problems.
- Receive and process incoming materials, including handling, inspection, labeling, and delivery.
- Verify items received against purchase orders, bills of lading, and packing lists.
- Work with purchasing to resolve problems with inaccurate deliveries or incorrect paperwork.
- Visually inspect deliveries for loss or damage.
- Prepare finished goods and other items for shipment.
- Order and maintain supplies necessary to ship products.
- Verify count and part numbers and prepare and pack items for shipment.
- Prepare shipping documentation and labels.
- Schedule and coordinate pick up for outgoing shipments.
- Interact with freight carriers as needed.
- Post weight and shipping charges and maintain detailed files for shipments.
- Research and validate customer claims of wrong shipments, missing parts, or defective products.
- Generate appropriate transactions to correct errors.
What We're Looking For
- Knowledge of warehouse, distribution, inventory control, and shipping/receiving practices.
- Ability to maintain detailed and accurate records of material movement.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal customers.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as reel counters, scales, pallet jacks, and forklift.
- Ability to effectively lead personnel engaged in warehouse operations.
- Specific certifications and/or licenses as required.
- Four to five years of relevant experience.
- Additional courses after High School, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Team & Environment
You will work under general supervision and may provide functional guidance to others and demonstrate work methods to new employees.
