AECOM is hiring a Maritime Senior Structural Engineer

About the Role

This position leads structural engineering efforts for maritime infrastructure, including ports, terminals, and coastal defense systems, ensuring designs meet safety, environmental, and client requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and analysis of marine structures such as piers, wharves, and seawalls
  • Conduct structural assessments for port and terminal facilities
  • Prepare engineering calculations and technical specifications
  • Review construction documentation for compliance with design standards
  • Support field investigations and site inspections
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on project delivery
  • Ensure structural designs comply with applicable codes and regulations
  • Develop and review finite element models for complex structures
  • Manage technical aspects of engineering packages
  • Oversee third-party review processes for structural components
  • Provide guidance on material selection for marine environments
  • Assist in risk assessment and mitigation planning
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies on permitting requirements
  • Lead technical reviews during design and construction phases
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical oversight
  • Prepare and deliver engineering reports
  • Support proposal development and project scoping
  • Evaluate existing infrastructure for rehabilitation or expansion
  • Apply corrosion protection principles in design
  • Utilize structural analysis software for modeling
  • Ensure integration of sustainability practices in design
  • Address geotechnical considerations in waterfront construction
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables
  • Maintain quality assurance in engineering outputs
  • Respond to contractor requests for information
