Optum Tech (UnitedHealth Group) is seeking a Manager of User Experience to play a pivotal role in elevating the quality and consistency of the Specialty Provider digital experience. As a senior designer, you will function as the subject matter expert in this space, delivering design artifacts for features across the Optum portfolio.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with product management, other designers, data and analytics, and engineering in discovery and requirements gathering sessions.
- Translate partner goals into multiple creative solutions.
- Design experiences based on analytics, user research, and best practices.
- Learn and work within established brand guidelines and the design pattern library.
- Provide final layout, font, colors, and spacing rules aligned with the Optum brand, sourcing images, icons, or videos as needed.
- Clearly articulate the problem being solved, user access points, and progression when presenting designs.
- Manage timelines, milestones, and internal processes on feature work to ensure timely delivery.
- Serve as the subject matter expert across different portals, surfaces, and channels.
- Partner with the research team to prepare and build prototypes for user testing.
- Serve as a mentor to other designers.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience designing web responsive experiences.
- 3+ years of experience designing in Figma, with the ability to create a prototype to demo the experience.
- Expert-level understanding of user-centered design principles, information architecture, and usability best practices, including design pattern libraries and documentation.
- Proficient in using Figma to document designs and create prototypes.
- Proven excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate design concepts and rationale to stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality user experiences.

- Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and best practices.
