Glanbia is looking for a Machine Operator Lead (Machine Operator II) to oversee the overall operations and leadership of manufacturing equipment. You will ensure safe, quality production while guiding team members.
What You'll Do
- Work with known allergens such as milk, soy, wheat, egg, peanut, and tree nut
- Successfully perform setups on multiple manufacturing machines
- Understand differences in powders and perform procedures for allergen and flavor cleans
- Correctly fill out paper reports for parts, cleans, changes, safety audits, and more
- Load, unload, move, count, pick, stack, and stage product using forklifts or other material handling equipment
- Perform Root Cause Analysis on machines
- Train new hires on equipment and procedures
- Support and abide by the company’s safety program, initiatives, policies, and procedures
- Report all injuries to Supervisor immediately
- Ensure plant personnel practice safe work habits and follow safety rules
- Ensure work procedures are followed consistently for Safety, Quality, GMP, MAV, and HACCP
- Know and understand lock out/tag procedures
- Perform safety inspections and be aware of safety points on machines and/or MHE
- Communicate with Leadership regarding safety or quality issues
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Troubleshoot issues before making machine adjustments after training
- Work with the maintenance department on improvements
- Change machine parts to operate with different types of products
- Perform other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs occasionally from 6 inches off ground to waist
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally from waist to shoulder
- Ability to carry up to 55 lbs occasionally up to 5 ft
- Ability to pull a 55lb bag from a height of 60 inches occasionally
- Ability to successfully perform setups on assigned manufacturing machines
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English fluently
- Knowledge of or familiarity with GMP’s/HACCP
- 1 year of food environment or consumer product experience
Nice to Have
- 6 months of experience operating Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT)
