M&T Bank is hiring a Loss Mitigation Liaison I in Clanton, Alabama. In this role, you will act as the dedicated Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for customers throughout the loss mitigation process, from initial package collection through to final decision and closing, as well as during the foreclosure process. You will maintain direct contact with consumers, guiding them through complex financial situations.
What You'll Do
- Take inbound and make outbound calls to an assigned portfolio of delinquent mortgage loan borrowers to investigate loss mitigation options.
- Answer consumer questions about their accounts and document all contact accurately in the mortgage servicing system.
- Collect consumer financial information and assist borrowers in reviewing and completing loss mitigation documents.
- Communicate and clearly explain the terms of loss mitigation approvals or declines, including the rationale and any appeal or re-application processes.
- Explain liquidation options and the foreclosure process as necessary.
- Adhere to all applicable compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with Company and regulatory standards.
- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including the timely implementation of audit points from internal, external, and regulatory reviews.

What We're Looking For
- A combined 4 years’ higher education and/or work experience.
- A minimum of 1 year of collections or customer service experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally over the phone.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Mortgage collections experience.
- Knowledge of M&T systems.
Benefits & Compensation
- The hourly pay range for this role is $22.61 - $37.67 (USD).
