Halliburton is hiring a Logging Geologist for its Surface Data Logging (SDL) service line. This entry-level field position is based in Aberdeen and offers a foundational opportunity to learn mud logging techniques and provide critical on-location geological and drilling data to our clients.
What You'll Do
- Learn the job for the Surface Data Logging (SDL) service line to provide on-location geological and drilling data collection and reporting.
- Learn the basics of drilling theory and mud logging techniques.
- Gather drilled cuttings by depth intervals.
- Transport cuttings and keep accurate records of intervals transported.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Attend training and perform on-the-job development activities related to mud-logging, data collection, reporting, and gas system operations.
- Attend and complete induction courses as necessary.
- Complete training appointments to obtain required safety, offshore, or other customer-specific certificates for rig site access.
What We're Looking For
- Completion of an undergraduate degree in a STEM discipline or Geology.
- Ability to demonstrate technical aptitude.
- Good communication skills, along with arithmetic, data entry, and recording abilities.
- Must have successfully passed company tests or met task guideline requirements.
- Little to no experience in the petroleum or related industries.
