Bosch Chassis Systems India Private Ltd. is hiring a Linux System Engineer to manage the technological backbone of a global leader. You will be a key expert responsible for the stability, security, and evolution of one of the world's largest server infrastructures, designing and automating solutions for critical Bosch systems worldwide.
What You'll Do
- Manage installation, maintenance, and upkeep of Linux operating systems (Ubuntu/Debian/RHEL) in an environment of tens of thousands of servers using advanced automation.
- Develop Ansible playbooks and roles, create scripts, and program to continuously improve CI/CD processes and automate deployments and daily maintenance.
- Implement security hardening measures, stay current with latest security standards, and proactively respond to audit findings and IT risks.
- Collaborate with L1/L2 support teams to analyze and resolve escalated technical issues to ensure system stability and high availability.
- Enhance monitoring systems (Icinga, Nagios, Grafana) to ensure full visibility into infrastructure health and proactively identify potential issues.
- Perform host management and 'golden image' management on cloud platforms, as well as maintain physical server hardware (x86, Sparc).
- Consult and collaborate with IT and DevOps teams on security best practices for Linux/Unix systems in on-premise and cloud environments.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a similar technical discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Linux system administration and engineering (Ubuntu/Debian/RHEL) in large-scale, automated environments.
- Hands-on experience with Ansible Automation Platform (formerly Tower) and CI/CD, proficient in developing Ansible playbooks/roles to automate tasks at scale.
- Experience integrating Linux infrastructure with identity providers (AD, PAM) and excellent knowledge of SSSD and Kerberos.
- Experience with enterprise patch management solutions (e.g., Satellite, SUSE Manager, BigFix) in environments exceeding 10,000 systems.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience in IT security and cybersecurity.
- Strong understanding of DevOps, SRE, Agile principles, and the ITIL framework.
- Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively to ensure high customer satisfaction.
- Ability to work independently in accordance with established organizational standards.
