About the Role
The artist will create detailed and functional level designs, translating conceptual ideas into fully realized 3D spaces while ensuring technical and artistic quality across all stages of development.
Responsibilities
- Design and construct engaging game levels using 3D modeling and level editing tools
- Collaborate with designers and engineers to integrate gameplay elements into environments
- Optimize level assets for performance across target platforms
- Ensure visual consistency with the project’s artistic direction
- Iterate on level layouts based on feedback from playtests and team reviews
- Implement lighting and atmospheric effects to support mood and gameplay clarity
- Create modular environment components for efficient level assembly
- Work within engine-specific constraints to maintain frame rate and memory usage
- Support the creation of narrative-driven spaces that guide player progression
- Maintain organized project files and follow team production pipelines
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to collision, rendering, or asset loading
- Contribute to the development of style guides and asset standards
- Participate in peer reviews to ensure quality across all levels
- Adapt environments to accommodate balance changes and design updates
- Assist in the creation of concept art or blockout layouts when needed
- Integrate audio triggers and environmental effects within levels
- Ensure accessibility considerations are reflected in spatial design
- Work closely with QA to resolve reported level-related bugs
- Stay current with industry tools and techniques in environment art
- Support the onboarding of new team members with documentation or training

- Experience with photogrammetry workflows
- Knowledge of procedural generation tools
- Background in architectural visualization
- Experience with terrain sculpting and landscape systems
