About the Role

CD PROJEKT RED is seeking a Lead UI Engineer to join our team developing the next chapter in the Cyberpunk universe. You will lead the UI Engineering Team, taking ownership of implementing and maintaining the user interface features that define the player experience.

What You'll Do

  • Manage direct reports, supporting their professional growth through 1:1s, performance management, hiring, and promotions.
  • Work closely with designers, artists, and other developers to align team deliverables with project expectations.
  • Guide the team in building, enhancing, and optimizing UI features and systems.
  • Create new features for the user interface framework and implement tools for UI artists and designers.
  • Track and fix bugs within the game user interface and the underlying UI framework.
  • Manage tasks effectively to deliver high-quality code on time.

What We're Looking For

  • At least 7 years of professional experience as a UI programmer or engineer within the games industry.
  • 3+ years of management experience.
  • A strong understanding of what makes user interfaces successful and accessible in modern video games.
  • Proficiency in C++ programming and substantial knowledge of Unreal Engine.
  • Solid skills in algorithms, code architecture, debugging, and optimization.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality in your work.
  • Ability to work effectively both in a team and independently.
  • Clear, effective, and respectful communication skills in a multicultural, multilingual environment across time zones.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Diegetic or In-world UI systems.
  • Experience working with Common UI in Unreal Engine.
  • Experience implementing multiplayer UI features.
  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine's UI MVVM pattern.

  • Salary range: $180,100 - $247,600 CAD annually. This role may also be eligible for discretionary stock options.
