Work on the Chrome team to create user-centered products and prototypes that integrate design and engineering, focusing on AI-first software development and improving web experiences through advanced front-end techniques and rapid prototyping.
Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality front-end solutions and design systems to support complex interactions in next-generation AI-first Chrome software.
- Test and integrate new front-end technologies and computational design approaches within the disco vehicle, producing high-fidelity, experiment-ready prototypes for fast, data-informed iteration.
- Collaborate with Research, Design, Product, and key partners such as Google DeepMind, Google Labs, and Creative Lab to refine and advance concepts toward integration into core Chrome features.
- Help evolve foundational code and tools to speed up AI-assisted engineering workflows and provide front-end expertise and mentorship to ensure consistent quality across deliverables.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 4 years of experience in front-end development, technical UX design, or prototyping.
- Experience developing applications across platforms such as web, iOS, Android, CompDes, or XR.
- Proficiency with TypeScript and product design.
Nice to Have
- 5 years of experience building responsive, adaptive, and high-performance websites and applications.
- 5 years working as a front-end developer, UX Engineer, creative technologist, design technologist, or in a prototyping-focused design role.
- Background in full-stack development and UX prototyping.
- Experience developing with browser-based platforms such as Chrome Extensions, React, or Electron.
- Ability to clearly explain technical and design choices to non-technical and cross-functional collaborators.
- Strong visual design sense and systems thinking capabilities.
