Google is looking for a UX Engineer who is versatile, passionate, and driven to advance the vision for our design teams. You will develop products and prototypes that bring innovative ideas to life, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management to create industry-leading products.
What You'll Do
- Deliver high-quality front-end and design contributions by building UI systems and complex interactions for next-generation AI-first software in Chrome.
- Implement and evaluate new front-end technologies and computational design methods, building testable, high-fidelity prototypes for rapid, data-driven experimentation.
- Partner with Research, Design, Product, Google DeepMind, Google Labs, and Creative Lab to implement scoped concepts and iteratively improve solutions based on user insights.
- Contribute to the evolution of foundational code and tooling to accelerate AI-assisted engineering workflows, and provide front-end coding support and guidance to team members.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience in front-end development, technical UX design, or prototyping.
- Experience in application development in any of the platforms/areas (e.g., web, iOS, Android, CompDes, XR).
- Experience with TypeScript and product design.
Nice to Have
- 5 years developing responsive, adaptive, and performant websites and applications.
- 5 years of experience as a front-end developer, UX Engineer, creative or design technologist, or in a prototyping design environment.
- Experience with full-stack development and UX prototyping.
- Experience building on browser-based tools like Chrome Extensions, React, or Electron.
- Ability to articulate technical and design decisions to cross-functional partners.
- Excellent visual craft and systems thinking skills.

- Compensation: $132,000-$189,000 + equity
