Lely is looking for a Lead Engineer Software to lead a team of embedded software engineers developing software for our robotic cleaning and stable solutions. This role is central to our mission of making dairy farming interesting for the next generation through sustainable innovation.
What You'll Do
- Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary embedded software team through all phases of product development.
- Coach and guide team members, focusing on both technical growth and personal development.
- Translate customer needs into robust, scalable software solutions using test-driven development.
- Oversee the design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of embedded software.
- Ensure high code quality through design/code reviews and comprehensive test strategies.
- Continuously improve Agile processes and team outcomes.
- Define and maintain the technical roadmap in line with product and business objectives.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a similar field.
- At least 2 years of experience in a leadership or management role.
- Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python.
- Experience with embedded Linux systems.
- Thorough knowledge of object-oriented design and test-driven development.
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as CAN and Ethernet.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary Agile Scrum teams.
- An empathetic and reliable professional who leads the team by acting as a role model.
