Lely is looking for a Lead Engineer Software to lead a team developing and maintaining embedded software for robotic cleaning and barn solutions. In this role, you will translate customer needs into technical specifications and oversee the entire software development lifecycle.
What You'll Do
- Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary embedded software team through all phases of product development.
- Coach and mentor team members, fostering both technical growth and personal development.
- Translate customer needs into robust, scalable software solutions using a test-driven development approach.
- Oversee the design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of embedded software.
- Ensure high-quality code through design/code reviews and comprehensive testing strategies.
- Continuously improve Agile processes and team performance.
- Define and maintain the technical roadmap in alignment with product and business goals.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role.
- Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python.
- Experience with embedded Linux systems.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented design and test-driven development.
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as CAN and Ethernet.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary Agile Scrum teams.
- An empathetic and trustworthy professional who leads their team by acting as a role model.

Team & Environment
You will lead a multidisciplinary embedded software team consisting of at least ten embedded software engineers.
