GE Vernova is hiring a Lead Engineer - Plant Layout and Program Integration to provide leadership and oversight for a technical team designing the plant layout of the BWRX-300 Small Modular Reactor (SMR). You will play a key role integrating the Nuclear Island, Turbine Island, and Balance of Plant systems into a comprehensive 3D BIM Model, working with cross-functional teams and partners to advance plant design from concept to detailed execution.
What You'll Do
- Lead component and system integration for new nuclear plant design.
- Identify verification and validation (V&V) requirements at the plant, system, and component levels.
- Manage interfaces between systems, components, and project/product management organizations.
- Develop specialized knowledge and serve as a best practice and quality resource for your discipline.
- Use judgment to solve moderately complex problems in operational management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering.
- Apply technical expertise to analyze data and support recommendations.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or STEM from an accredited university or college.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in engineering.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in nuclear commercial power.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% (U.S. and internationally).
- For U.S. roles: final offers are contingent on obtaining authorization to access U.S. export-controlled information.
- For Canada: must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
Nice to Have
- Master’s or PhD in Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
- Experience with Nuclear Island, Turbine Island, and Balance of Plant systems and their safety analyses design bases.
- Direct experience working in a nuclear power plant.
- Plant experience in multiple capacities such as on-shift, outage prep, work control, or training.
- Commercial nuclear engineering experience in Design, Licensing, PRA, or Systems, or shipyard nuclear systems engineering experience.
- Licensed Professional Engineer.
- Strong knowledge of plant operations, licensing, design bases, and transient/accident analysis.
- Strong oral, written, interpersonal, leadership, and customer interaction skills.

- Compensation in Canada: $150K-$200K CAD. For the U.S.: $98,400-$188,600 USD, with a geographic salary differential applied in certain areas.

This is a hybrid position open to candidates in the U.S. and Canada.
