Celestica is looking for a Lead Manufacturing Process Engineer specializing in Automation to design, deploy, and optimize automated manufacturing processes within our Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) environment. This role is central to integrating robotics, AGVs, and industrial control systems to achieve quality, cost, and delivery goals.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and implement new automated manufacturing processes, specializing in robotics and autonomous systems integration.
- Develop application software and tooling for complex automated machines and mechanical process steps.
- Lead the capability assessment of automation systems using Design of Experiments and statistical methods.
- Lead disciplined problem-solving for complex product and process issues affecting efficient manufacture, focusing on automation system performance.
- Initiate and lead design feedback for manufacturability and automation suitability.
- Manage AGV fleet systems, traffic management, and integration with WMS/MES systems.
- Configure and optimize industrial control systems, including PLC programming, HMI/SCADA, and Industrial Networking for automated lines.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1 to 3 years of related experience in similar roles.
- Expertise in 6-axis robot arm programming (ABB, FANUC, KUKA, Yaskawa), kinematics, motion planning, end-effector design, and teach pendant/offline programming.
- Experience with AGV fleet management, navigation technologies, traffic management, and integration with WMS/MES systems.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi), HMI/SCADA development, industrial networking (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP), servo systems, and sensor integration.
- Skills in production line layout, material handling system design, takt time analysis, assembly process automation, and quality control station integration.
- Programming knowledge in robot-specific languages (RAPID, KRL, INFORM, JBI), PLC languages (Ladder Logic, Structured Text), Python, and C/C++.
- Experience with robot simulation software (RobotStudio, RoboGuide, KUKA.Sim), CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD), factory simulation, MES, WMS, SCADA/HMI platforms (Ignition, WinCC, FactoryTalk), OPC UA/DA, and IoT platforms.
