Immanuel Christian School is hiring a Kindergarten Teacher to fulfill spiritual, planning, instructional, management, communication, and professional responsibilities. This role is central to our mission, requiring a deep commitment to integrating Christian faith and values into daily classroom life.
What You'll Do
- Maintain a daily personal devotional life for spiritual preparedness.
- Demonstrate by example love and obedience to Christ and His word.
- Attend an evangelical church and serve in a church ministry.
- Share in leading faculty devotions on an alternating basis.
- Provide all written teaching plans required by the administration, incorporating the school’s curriculum.
- Develop a plan and method for evaluating student work.
- Request instructional equipment and supplies.
- Prepare materials and use resources to support instruction.
- Clearly communicate the objectives and relevance of the material being taught.
- Integrate biblical principles as appropriate.
- Evaluate student understanding and mastery of content.
- Demonstrate command of and enthusiasm for the subject matter.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods, materials, media, and evaluation tools.
- Provide reference to other disciplines and life examples to enrich learning.
- Utilize effective classroom and instructional management techniques.
- Reflect a Christ-like spirit in dealing with student-teacher and student-student relationships.
- Recognize the value of time-on-task and demonstrate good use of instructional and planning periods.
- Arrange the physical environment to complement the learning atmosphere.
- Maintain accurate and complete school records.
- Maintain effective communication with students, parents, team members, faculty, office staff, and administration.
- Clearly communicate compassion and empathy to all students.
- Reflect a Christ-like spirit in dealing with conflicts and personal issues.
- Arrive punctually and attend all duties, programs, and meetings scheduled by the administration.
- Serve on committees for evaluating curriculum, textbooks, operational procedures, special events, etc.
- Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, school board policies, and support the school's goals.
- Maintain a professional attitude in relationships and collaborate with colleagues and administration.
- Maintain personal appearance in a professionally appropriate manner.
- Model the spiritual expectations of the school.
What We're Looking For
- An earned Baccalaureate degree.
- Regeneration by the Holy Spirit through personal faith in Jesus Christ by the acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior.
- A working knowledge of the Bible.
- Completion of studies in the Christian Philosophy of Education.
Nice to Have
- A Baccalaureate degree preferably in education.
- State licensure (recommended, but not required).
