The State of Vermont Judiciary seeks a permanent Judicial Assistant in Woodstock to perform specialized clerical, data entry, and customer support work. You will apply legal practices and procedures to support one or more docket areas within the court's jurisdiction.
What You'll Do
- Perform specialized clerical and administrative work with heavy data entry and case processing.
- Execute case-flow functions across the full case-cycle, including docket entry, processing filings, sending notices, reviewing documents, preparing orders, and scheduling events.
- Operate various tools to support both in-person and remote virtual court hearings.
- Perform operator function during court hearings by providing high-speed docket entry and real-time processing in medium and high-volume settings.
- Employ a methodical approach to ensure standardized business practices are followed.
- Respond to customer inquiries, assisting with forms, court kiosks, and case information.
- Maintain excellent customer interaction by providing prompt information and assistance.
- Collect fines and fees, and close, balance, and reconcile tills.
- Maintain a working knowledge and adherence to court rules and statutes.
What We're Looking For
- High School graduation or equivalent.
- Two years of clerical, secretarial, or data entry experience.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience in a legal setting.
- Mastery of office technology.

- Starting salary is $22.07 per hour. Eligible for longevity increases per State step pay plan and annual cost of living increases.
