MyFlorida’s Department of Management Services is hiring an Interviewing Clerk for the Economic Self-Sufficiency (ACCESS) Business Model at the Lakeland Storefront. In this role, you will perform essential clerical tasks to support program goals, providing direct assistance to the public and serving as a key point of contact for individuals applying for benefits.
What You'll Do
- Greet customers and assist them with the application process, both online and via paper forms.
- Ensure lobby equipment and forms are available and operational for customer use.
- Answer general inquiries about program requirements, application status, and benefit information.
- Log customers into computer-based systems for data collection and escalate complex issues as needed.
- Educate customers on community partners and the features of their myACCESS Account.
- Resolve issues with Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) ACCESS cards, including PIN unlocks.
- Assist customers with referrals to other agencies and community resources.
- Monitor lobby traffic flow and notify the supervisor of any concerns.
- Complete client registration clearances as required.
- Conduct abbreviated interviews to collect and update information for all public assistance programs.
- Request additional verification needed to establish or continue eligibility according to Department procedures.
- Ensure electronic case records are documented thoroughly and correctly.
- Take corrective action on errors identified through quality management reviews.
- Review requests for public assistance, perform statewide clearances, and reconcile data discrepancies.
- Assign requests to Economic Self-Sufficiency Specialists for eligibility determination.
- Manually and electronically assign incoming paper applications.
- Process incoming and outgoing mail and scan documents into electronic files.
- Maintain professional knowledge through training, staff meetings, and performance conferences.
- Perform special assignments and other related duties as required.
