The Interior Designer at Meteor Education plays a key role in shaping high-impact learning environments for K-12 clients. You will partner with the sales team and educational specialists to develop furniture layouts and design concepts that align with Meteor's Design Principles and support dynamic educational spaces.
What You'll Do
- Attend project programming meetings in person or on Zoom with salesperson, educational specialist, and client to determine scope of the project
- Collaborate with salesperson and educational specialist to strategize on how to best address the client’s needs
- Develop conceptual design solutions that reflect the information gathered during the intake meeting
- Create and present visual presentations including 2D drawings, 3D renderings, and furniture specifications based on standard deliverables using Meteor software platforms
- Specify furniture, including finishes, and custom items within our design and quoting software using multiple manufacturers
- Work within budget constraints and timelines, recommending product solutions as discussed with salesperson and client
- Perform specification review and develop installation documents for each project with the Studio team
- Show excellent communication skills when presenting to customers and team members
- Elevate product knowledge and application by researching K-12 and higher education environment design, product options including 100+ manufacturers, and industry trends
- Adhere to the Meteor Core Process as well as Design Drawing and Process standards
- Apply knowledge of ADA, Life Safety, Fire, and Electrical codes
- Attend in-person Studio activities – scheduled meetings and training
- Build a strong relationship with Studio team members
- Be willing to travel to client meetings, company events, onboarding in Gainesville, Florida, and functional training
- Work remotely

Team & Environment
You will be part of a regional Studio team including a Managing Director, Sales, Instructional Design (educational specialist), Project Coordination (quoting), and Project Management, reporting to the Team Lead - Interior Designer. Benefits & Compensation
- All required business travel expenses are covered by Meteor in accordance with our travel and expense policy
- In-person cultural orientation (approximately one week) covered, including travel to Gainesville, FL
- Opportunity to attend annual company meetings or other business events with travel expenses covered
Compensation range is $70,000 - $75,000.
Work Mode
This is a remote role; however, applicants must reside in Denver, CO and be available for local in-person Studio activities and travel as needed.
