Responsibilities
- Analyze policy language for general liability, professional liability, and property insurance
- Determine coverage applicability under various jurisdictional standards
- Draft coverage opinions and reservation of rights letters
- Represent clients in coverage disputes and litigation
- Manage cases from intake through trial or settlement
- Interpret insurance contracts and exclusions
- Advise on duty to defend and duty to indemnify issues
- Handle claims involving construction defects, product liability, and environmental exposures
- Litigate bad faith allegations against insurers
- Respond to first-party and third-party coverage demands
- Coordinate with claims adjusters and underwriters
- Prepare for depositions and hearings
- Negotiate settlements in coverage-inclusive cases
- Monitor emerging legal trends in insurance law
- Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations
- Support appellate work in insurance-related cases
- Evaluate subrogation opportunities
- Address excess and umbrella policy layers
- Work on reinsurance matters when applicable
- Manage multi-jurisdictional claims efficiently
