Oxford Preparatory Academy is hiring a part-time Instructional Assistant to work alongside our teaching staff. In this role, you will assist a certificated teacher by reinforcing instruction to individual students and small groups across classroom and outdoor activities.
What You'll Do
- Assist instructional personnel with the development and presentation of learning materials.
- Tutor individuals and small groups of students to reinforce instruction as directed.
- Monitor and oversee student drills, practices, and assignments.
- Oversee and supervise students during classroom activities, recess periods, and field trips.
- Read to students, explain words and meanings, and re-phrase materials.
- Assist in administering and scoring tests, and compute and record grades.
- Maintain student records and files.
- Confer with the teacher about program and student needs.
- Observe and guide student behavior in various environments using positive reinforcement.
- Prepare teaching materials.
