Maximizd Recruitment Agency is looking for an Infrastructure Security Design Engineer to support the design and maintenance of secure infrastructure. In this role, you'll apply your developing expertise in network security and infrastructure technologies while receiving regular guidance to advance your skills. What You'll Do
- Assist in implementing network security controls including firewalls, IPS/IDS, and proxies.
- Configure basic network security policies, access control lists, and support network segmentation implementations.
- Support deployment of VPN and secure remote access solutions.
- Assist with the deployment and configuration of security technologies like SIEM, EDR, and endpoint protection.
- Integrate security tools with existing infrastructure and support testing and validation activities.
- Troubleshoot basic security technology issues with senior guidance.
- Apply security hardening standards and implement CIS Benchmark configurations for Windows and Linux systems.
- Perform security baseline assessments using automated scanning tools.
- Monitor security alerts, perform initial triage of incidents, and escalate appropriately.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and runbooks.
- Conduct vulnerability scans and analyze results to validate security control implementations.
What We're Looking For
- Security+ or equivalent foundation security certification.
- Network+ or CCNA certification (Required or in progress).
Nice to Have
- Microsoft or Linux certification.
- Working toward certifications like CCNA Security, SSCP, or vendor security certifications.
Technical Stack
- Firewall concepts and configuration (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Fortinet).
- Security technologies: antivirus, IPS/IDS, proxies.
- Windows and Linux operating system security.
- Basic scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation.
- Network protocols: TCP/IP fundamentals, routing basics, switching, VLANs.
- Network services: DNS, DHCP, NTP, Active Directory basics.
- Virtualization: Basic VMware or Hyper-V knowledge.
- Operating systems: Windows Server administration, Linux command line.
- Cloud security concepts (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel).
- Endpoint protection platforms (CrowdStrike, Carbon Black, Defender).
- Vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys, OpenVAS).
- Network monitoring and packet analysis tools.
- Security automation and orchestration concepts.
