Truelogic Software is looking for an Informix Migration Consultant to lead the assessment and modernization of a mission-critical legacy system built on Informix database and 4GL applications for our client in the Advertising sector. Based in Brazil, you will conduct a thorough analysis, define a migration strategy, and develop a roadmap to transition to a modern, scalable solution while ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

What You'll Do

Perform a comprehensive audit of existing Informix databases and 4GL applications, documenting architecture, dependencies, and business logic.
Collaborate with stakeholders to capture new system requirements, including security, scalability, performance, and reliability needs.
Research and recommend modern database and application solutions to replace the legacy Informix environment.
Develop a detailed migration plan, including risk assessment, phased execution, and rollback strategies.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to the development team throughout the migration process.
Ensure data integrity, application functionality, and performance optimization post-migration.

What We're Looking For

Expert-level knowledge of IBM Informix (database administration, SQL, stored procedures, and performance tuning).
Deep experience with Informix 4GL (development, debugging, and modernization).
Proven track record in migrating Informix-based systems to modern platforms (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or cloud-native databases).
Strong understanding of database migration tools and methodologies.
Ability to analyze legacy code, identify inefficiencies, and recommend optimization strategies.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
