About the Role
The selected candidate will be responsible for planning and executing the migration of Informix database systems to a modern platform, supporting advertising operations with reliable and scalable data infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement strategies for transitioning Informix databases to updated systems
- Collaborate with engineering teams to minimize service interruptions during migration
- Assess current database architecture and identify optimization opportunities
- Ensure data consistency and accuracy throughout the migration process
- Develop detailed migration plans with clear timelines and risk assessments
- Monitor system performance pre- and post-migration
- Troubleshoot technical issues arising during data transfer
- Maintain documentation of database schemas and migration procedures
- Support compliance with data security standards
- Coordinate with stakeholders to align technical execution with business goals
- Provide technical guidance during integration with advertising platforms
- Validate data integrity after migration phases
- Implement backup and rollback protocols
- Optimize query performance in the new environment
- Assist in capacity planning for future database needs
- Participate in code and design reviews
- Work within agile development cycles
- Communicate progress and blockers to project leads
- Ensure adherence to service level agreements
- Support post-migration testing and validation
- Train team members on new database systems
- Evaluate third-party tools for migration efficiency
- Document lessons learned for future projects
- Maintain alignment with IT governance policies
- Respond to on-call alerts when required
