Compose.ly is looking for an Industrial Automation Writer to create authoritative, customer-centric blog content focused on secondary packaging automation for CPG manufacturers. In this role, you will translate complex subject matter expert insights into accessible content and help position the client as a trusted advisor throughout the buyer’s journey.
What You'll Do
- Write long-form blog articles (1,000–1,900+ words) for two brands’ Learning Centers.
- Conduct SME interviews (approximately 30–45 minutes as needed).
- Translate technical terminology into accessible content without oversimplifying.
- Apply StoryBrand 2.0 storytelling principles.
- Maintain an educational-first focus where SEO is a secondary priority.
- Collaborate in review cycles and iterate based on feedback.
- Support foundational content that may later be repurposed into guides or checklists.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of B2B writing experience (required).
Nice to Have
- Experience in industrial automation, manufacturing, engineering, packaging, or related technical industries (strongly preferred).
- Strong B2B writing experience.
- Ability to translate complex SME insights into accessible, engaging content.
- Comfort conducting SME interviews and asking clarifying technical questions.
- Familiarity with StoryBrand 2.0 principles (customer as hero, brand as guide is a plus).
- Proven ability to write for technical yet non-technical audiences.
- Experience interviewing subject matter experts.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted drafting workflows (human-edited and SME-driven).
- Ability to adapt to evolving brand voice and messaging frameworks.
- Understanding of customer-journey-based content strategy.
