The U.S. Forest Service and the Student Conservation Association (SCA) are seeking an individual to join the Pintler trail crew in Phillipsburg, MT. This role involves performing trail maintenance and construction in both wilderness and non-wilderness settings, using a variety of tools and transportation methods including backpacking for multi-day work trips.
What You'll Do
- Perform trail maintenance on wilderness and non-wilderness trails.
- Clear blowdown with chainsaws and crosscut saws.
- Dig drainage and maintain bridges.
- Use hand tools, 4-wheelers, UTVs, and horses for trail work.
- Backpack for 4-5 days at a time to access remote work sites.
- Assist the lead blaster in explosives work.
What We're Looking For
- Tool aptitude or a strong desire to learn to use tools and perform physical labor outdoors.

- Chainsaw skills.
