Digicel is looking for a Headend Engineer to implement strategies that optimize the performance and reliability of our headend systems. Your work will ensure maximum uptime and minimal service disruptions while enhancing network efficiency.
What You'll Do
- Implement strategies to optimize headend performance and reliability for maximum uptime.
- Plan and execute regular maintenance, upgrades, and equipment replacements.
- Proactively identify and resolve technical issues to minimize service interruptions.
- Monitor headend capacity to anticipate future requirements and plan for expansions.
- Conduct regular audits of network resources to ensure capacity for growth.
- Monitor and manage day-to-day headend operations for optimal performance.
- Provide expert technical support and guidance for complex troubleshooting.
- Coordinate and execute upgrades and integrations of headend equipment.
- Conduct regular audits to maintain high-quality standards and implement improvements.
- Be on-call to respond promptly to critical issues and emergencies.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Proven experience managing headend operations in telecommunications.
- In-depth knowledge of headend equipment, cable distribution systems, IP, multicast, unicast, and RF technologies.
- Strong database and scripting proficiency in languages like Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
- Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices for headend operations.
- Strong understanding of IP networking and encoding technologies.
