EX Squared is hiring a Head of Platform Engineering (Remote - US)

We are currently seeking a strategic Engineering Leadership professional for a critical role in the United States. We are pursuing a visionary technical leader to spearhead the transformation and scalability of our technological ecosystem. In this pivotal role, you will guide platform engineering teams overseeing infrastructure, internal services, tooling, and modular components that empower multiple product squads. You will establish architectural standards, craft scalable APIs, and implement event-driven systems supporting AI-powered workflows and collaborative integrations. Accountabilities: · Spearhead platform modernization, transitioning toward a modular, API-driven, event-oriented architectural approach. · Architect and sustain platform services, internal APIs, and shared components ensuring clarity, dependability, and adaptability. · Construct and maintain secure, transparent, and highly resilient infrastructure supporting scalability and performance. · Elevate developer experience through sophisticated tooling, continuous integration/deployment pipelines, and internal platforms reducing operational complexity. · Synchronize with Product, Data, Growth, Finance, and Operations teams to harmonize technical solutions with strategic business goals. · Establish comprehensive architectural guidelines, protective frameworks, and optimal practices to guide engineering teams. · Recruit, develop, and inspire high-caliber engineers while cultivating a culture of craftsmanship, continuous improvement, and exceptional performance. Requirements: · 10+ years of engineering experience, with substantial leadership in platform, infrastructure, or backend systems at enterprise scale. · Demonstrated expertise modernizing legacy architectures into modular, service-oriented, or event-driven technological frameworks. · Profound technical proficiency in distributed systems, API development, cloud platforms, infrastructure management, and developer tooling. · Experience supporting AI/ML workflows, real-time data pipelines, or workflow automation (preferred but not mandatory). · Proven track record building and leading high-performing teams with emphasis on engineering excellence. · Systems thinking capabilities enabling complexity reduction while constructing solutions prioritizing speed, reliability, and long-term extensibility. · Exceptional communication skills translating technical constraints into clear business value propositions. · Cultural resonance with principles of passion, determination, resilience, humility, and results-oriented execution.
