Wintermute is looking for a Head of Compliance - MiCA to build and oversee our compliance framework for the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation. This role is critical for shaping our regulatory approach and ensuring operational integrity in the European digital asset market.
What You'll Do
- Develop, implement, and manage the MiCA compliance program from the ground up
- Monitor regulatory developments and translate requirements into actionable policies
- Establish cross-functional processes for ongoing compliance monitoring and reporting
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulators and external auditors on MiCA matters
- Lead internal training and education on compliance obligations
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in financial services compliance, with a focus on regulatory implementation
- Deep, proven expertise in European financial regulation, specifically MiCA and related frameworks
- Experience building compliance programs within a fintech, crypto exchange, or trading firm
- Strong analytical skills to interpret complex regulations and assess business impact
- Excellent leadership and communication skills to influence internal and external stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Prior experience in a Head of Compliance or similar senior leadership role
- Direct experience with regulatory authorisation processes
- Knowledge of compliance in algorithmic or high-frequency trading environments
