Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) is looking for a Handyman to perform routine maintenance, repairs, and improvements across commercial real estate properties. You will ensure safe, functional, and well-maintained facilities while supporting the overall facilities management team. This hands-on role at JLL requires versatile skills to address various maintenance needs and contribute to tenant satisfaction.
What You'll Do
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC components
- Complete carpentry work, painting, and general building improvements as needed
- Respond to tenant work orders and maintenance requests in a timely manner
- Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment, fixtures, and building infrastructure
- Install and repair doors, windows, locks, and other building hardware
- Maintain exterior areas including landscaping support, parking lots, and building grounds
- Document completed work, order necessary supplies, and coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent with technical/vocational training preferred
- 3-5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in commercial or residential properties
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry fundamentals
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel between multiple property locations
- Physical ability to perform manual labor and work in various environmental conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Nice to Have
- Trade school certification or apprenticeship in relevant construction trades
- Experience with commercial building systems and equipment
- Basic welding, tile work, or specialized trade skills
- Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and OSHA requirements
- Experience using work order management systems and mobile technology
- EPA certification for refrigerant handling or other relevant certifications
- Previous experience in commercial real estate or property management environment
